Calling all Foodies

If you're looking for something fun to do while enjoying great food and wine, here's a list of culinary events throughout Lorain County that are sure to satisfy your cravings.

Nemo Grille in Avon

Live Music at Vermilion Valley Vineyards, April 30, 7–9pm
Check out this brand new winery overlooking a pond and the rolling hills of western Lorain County. Beautiful scenery, great wine and live music. What more could you ask for? Check their website for additional live music dates and wine tastings.

Derby Day at Paper Moon Vineyards, May 1, 12–10pm

Don your best fancy derby and receive a complimentary cheese plate. Live music from 4–7pm. This is just one of many special events happing at Paper Moon all season long. Mark your calendar for their Texas-style BBQ dinner on May 8th.

Mothers Day Buffet at Oberlin Inn, May 9, 11am–5pm

Whatever you do, do not make your mother cook on Mother's Day! The buffet menu at the Garden Restaurant will feature Champagne Chicken, Parsley Buttered Red Skin Potatoes, Chocolate Fondue Station, among other favorites.

Pancake Breakfast at 103rd O.V. I. Civil War Museum, May 16, 8am–1pm

Learn about an important part of Ohio's history over breakfast. Can't make this one, they're having another June 13th.

Spring Garden Luncheon at the Hickories Museum, June 5, 11:30am–2pm.

1800s dress optional.

Italian Cooking Classes with Mario, June 13, Aroma Ristorante

Learn the art of authentic Italian cuisine from Chef Mario, native of Laurino in the Campania region of Italy. Classes are every other Sunday June 13 through the end of Nov. Also, every Monday and Tuesday, June–Nov. get a free appitizer with the purchase of two dinners. [Mario pictured right]

Steak Cookout at John Christ Winery, June 19, 6pm

Bring friends for a relaxed evening in Avon Lake sipping wine, enjoying live music.

International Festival & Bazaar, June 25–27

Over 40 food vendors, each serving a different ethnic food or delicacy. Try one, try them all, just come hungry!

Cheese Heritage Festival, Jul 16–18
Cheesecake bake-off and wine-tastings at this event.
